Operations Department

Our operations team, headed by Bernard Ameyaw, is comprised of operations supervisors, drivers and sanitary labourers. This team ensures that refuse is collected efficiently, effectively and punctually. All supervisors are trained extensively on the field, all drivers carry valid Category D driver’s licenses and all sanitary labourers comply to company and government standards of waste handling.

Finance & Revenue Mobilization Departments

Our finance and administration team, headed by Ebenezar B. Nartey-Tokoli, is comprised of, finance/accounting staff and revenue collectors. This team ensures that payments are received and bills issued promptly, customers are served and satisfied with service and finances of the company are sound to both our partners as well as government.

Administrative Department

Our Administrative team, headed by Felix A. Laryea, works to oversee our human resources. We believe in working with professionals in order to deliver the best. For this reason our staff recruitment and selection is done in such a way that there is no discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, religion tribe or ethnic origin. Advertising, interviewing and final selection are therefore based on the grounds of merit and suitability to the vacancy.

We invest in the best when orienting and training our employees. We believe capacity building is critical to the existence of any organization and therefore organize periodic training for our staff to keep them on top of their game and also developing personal growth opportunities.
Its our priority to maintain a safe and secure work environment. Our staff are very important to the company we therefore make it a point to provide a very conducive and safe environment for work.

Other functions of the department include estate management, office and facilities management, internal and external correspondence and  other duties that help improve productivity.

Innovations Department

Our Innovations Department, headed by Akua Akyaa Nkrumah, is comprised of the waste segregation team, compost plant workers, paper and plastic recycling workers, webmaster, public relations work, public education and sensitization as well as marketing and all other pilot projects. This team works to push Jekora Ventures forward in its waste management professionalism, making reference to the latest trends, research and development.

Investigations Department

Our Legal Department, headed by Prince Buasu, aims to collaborate with the metropolitan Public Health Department of Accra Metro Assembly by enforcing and implementing the Polluter-Pays-Principle (PPP) which was introduced by Dr. Jeffrey Sacchs in September 2010 pursuant to the 1992 constitution of Ghana Article 241(3).

Awareness Raising and Education

By this collaboration the legal team creates awareness with hygienic education on the following topics:

  1. Benefits of separation of waste at source of generation
  2. Improper storage of waste that may lead to incidents of putrid smell, breeding vermin, flies, etc
  3. Education on harmful effects of solid waste burning
  4. Explanation of benefits of household waste management practices such as proper storage, collection and disposal
  5. Getting residents to understand the Fee-Based Solid Waste Collection Programme for them to pay regular service fees

Registration with AMA Accredited Contractor

After the education, information and communication, all households, institutions, commercial establishments, clinics, etc must register with Jekora Ventures which is the AMA accredited waste contractor for Osu Klottey Sub-Metro Area. This is to enable the contractor to collect and haul generated solid waste from their respective premises for disposal.

Payment of Service Fee

The legal team is to ensure that service beneficiaries pay the AMA approved rates for waste collection to Jekora Ventures, per section 9 of 1995 AMA Bye-Laws on solid waste management.
