Hi, I am Martha

When the earth has become a global garbage can, we need someone to clean it up! That’s where I come in! My great passion is to help create a cleaner environment through innovation and creativity in managing waste. As I started my professional journey, I centered my vision around value addition to waste, interfacing waste and agriculture and governance in sustainability. By using sterilized human urine, biochar (from rice husk) and compost (from feacal sludge and saw dust) to grow capsicum annum during my Masters in Philosophy studies (Institute of Environment and Sanitation Studies- University of Ghana) launched me closer to the reality of achieving my vision.

Having worked with IWMI, SafiSana, Slamson, Jekora Ventures Limited on waste valorization through composting, briquette, plastic, paper and glass recycling among others; presenting and participating in several conferences and workshops over 8 years, working with several MMDAs, contributing to policy formulations etc., has broaden my global environmental perspectives and experiences in value addition and circular economy.

When I am not thinking and working with waste, I love spending time with family, watching movies and taking long strolls.
