The National Waste Source Segregation Program was launched by the Ghana Environmental Protection Agency in November, 2013 with Jekora Ventures Ltd. as implementing partners. This program aims to encourage sustainable waste management within the country and is being piloted within the ministerial enclave (where all the government agencies are located) and selected schools. Jekora Ventures is the implementing partner for this program and participates in educating the staff and students of these institutions, collects the segregated waste for pre-processing and recycling and ensures proper handling. We also participate actively in the monitoring and evaluation of the programme grading the various institutions in terms of performance to foster a competitive spirit amongst the institutions and also gather data on the volumes recycled and challenges faced and how they are to be addressed.
